The Global Shapers, Ho Hub of the World Economic Forum in partnership with Ho Node (a digital Innovation Hub) recently undertook a photography project, dubbed #HoPhotowalk; to capture the soul and scene of Ho, the capital city of the Volta Region with cameras as part of a grand digital project.
The 4-hour walk event, brought together 25 photographers, videographers and digital media volunteers to explore and capture historical, natural sites, landmarks as well as experience the warmth of Ho.
The goal of the project according to the shapers was to open up Ho digitally, boost the online presence of local businesses, attract tourist and investment opportunities to the city by sharing well-optimized photos online and accurately editing Ho Wikipedia page, which currently has scanty information and poor pictures.
The team of photographers drawn from the Memories Photography, Lensational.org, JMA photography, Skefotos, Massive Multimedia-Aflao, Volta Online, G2 Media, FK Bedi Photography, and Boneecstasy Photography, captured sights and scenes of some key places and edifices in the regional capital.
They include Ho market, Ho Sports stadium, GBC Volta Star Radio, Volta Regional House of Chiefs, Courts, Ho Technical University, Parks & Gardens, Roman Catholic Church, E.P Church, Police, Fire Service, Prisons among others.
Brian Dzansi, the Project lead said the PhotoWalk would be extended to other parts of the region and called for the support of individuals and interest groups in that regard.
“The photowalk is part of the hub’s digital project, designed to empower business owners, entrepreneurs and young people in Ho and the Volta Region with digital skills to reach the global market, access financial services, and effectively manage their businesses,” he added.
