The Ghana Football Association has appointed Kwesi Appiah as the substantive head coach of the Black Stars.
Kwesi Appiah replaces Avram Grant, whose two-year contract expired last February.
After a thorough search by a six-member committee set by the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Appiah was given the nod as head coach, for the second time, of the Black Stars with effect from May, 1, 2017.
Coach Kwesi Appiah would sign a two-year contract as the head coach of the national senior football team and would also be in charge of the local Black Stars.
Appiah, who led Ghana to the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil, was sacked few months after the Black Stars failed to qualify from the group stage of that tournament amid controversy over bonuses that rocked the team’s campaign in South America.
